Happy Halloween Part II

Here are some treats for you:

You're welcome.

Happy Halloween!

Good morning loves! How was your weekend? I am over at Meg's henning love today sharing a must-read story about the first time Kev came to the pumpkin patch with my family. Teaser: he is lucky he was still able to marry me after that excurstion. Be sure to pop over to henning love to hear that story and tell Meg hey!

Meanwhile, back in Larrabee land. Last night,we enacted a new family tradition: pumpkin carving followed by watching It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Cullen has been 'practicing' trick or treating for days now and I can't wait to see him in action tonight!

And while we are at it, let's take a trip down memory lane.

Too cute right? Can't wait to add another photo (with another little person!) to that pile this evening. Don't worry, I will share it in the morning. Do you have any plans for tonight? Happy Halloween!

More Highlights

If you checked in with me on Friday, then you got a sneak peek of the week's visit with my parents. The time went by so fast and I can't believe they had to leave already! We were so happy to have them here, to help with the boys and to be able to show they all the fun new places we have found out here and have them share in our California adventure. Here are a few more highlights:

Lunch at Cannery Row Brewing Co. We generally avoid Cannery Row because it is always packed with tourists, but I read good reviews of this restaurant and I'm glad we checked it out. Good food, great beer and an outdoor patio which makes dining with kids a much easier experience.
Seeing my dad embrace his grandfather role. I've that my dad isn't the warm and fuzzy type, but more of a 'let's see what kind of trouble we can get in to on our {insert motorized vehicle here}.' However, this time he was a big ol mush-pot of grand-daddying. He was holding hands, going down slides, comforting Bennett... I told him if he hugged Kev and said 'I love you' when he left, we would have some serious concerns. You can see more pics of my daddy being awesome with my kids in my mom's blog post.

Roaring Camp Railroad. We took the boys on an hour long train ride up to the top of a mountain near Santa Cruz. C loved the train (see first picture in my post from Friday), Mom and Dad loved seeing the Redwoods. I loved seeing my family making memories together. (More pictures on my mom's blog.)

Point Lobos. One of the self proclaimed 'crown jewels of California State Parks'. My parents are more mountain people, but even they loved the ocean in this setting. My dad even went scuba diving there on Friday. And yep, you guessed it, more pictures in my mom's post here.

And the best part about it all was just simply having my parents here.Smiles all around. Well, except for Bennett who is clearly not ok with Cullen's restaurant behavior here hehe.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Friday Fancies: My Dream Halloween

Happy Friday Friends! It has been such a perfect week. I cannot be happier my parents have been here and I have so much to share about their visit, but first, I must be faithful to my Friday Fancies. {av}'s prompt this week was to create a costume with no budget and honestly, my first thought was to go with the princess theme (since I love Kate Middleton and actually never went the princess route as a kid), but then I stumbled upon this gorgeous flapper dress on pinterest and well, it took over my post.
Dress, necklace, shoes, bracelet, earrings
Who doesn't love a good flapper get up? Add some onyx jewels and Gucci Mary-Janes, yes please! O how I wish I could have this in real life! Fortunately for yall, I will have pictures next week of one sweet little pumpkin and one cute little train engineer instead :)

On another note, until I can put all the posts together, here are some highlights from my parents' visit:

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Monterey Sunset II

Luckily for me, this week's photography challenge over at A Step in Journey was to capture the sunset, and that is one thing I can get in Monterey (well, when the sun is out anyways). Here is last Saturday at Carmel Beach in Carmel-By-the-Sea:

One of my favoite pictures ever
