Pop's Visit/Easter

Good Morning! How was your weekend? Ours has been a whirlwind. Kev's Dad, 'Pop', flew in from DC last Thursday for his first trip to Monterey. Cullen was so excited to show Pop the ocean.

We headed downtown for a trip to the aquarium

Friday night, we head down to the ocean at Ft. Ord Dunes State park. Pop was brave enough to test the water with Cullen.

I love this picture, this pretty mmuch sums up Kev and his Dad. They are so similiar and have such a great time together.
And while those crazies were hanging out with their feet in the water, this was me.
 And this was Bennett.
Cullen, not so happy about family picture time.

Saturday was Kev's birthday (he thanks you for all the kind wishes!) and we drove down to Big Sur to check out Pfieffer Beach. I will have a whole post on that tomorrow, so for now let's skip ahead to Easter.

Although for some reason, I really suck at making hard boiled eggs, we did some successful egg dying.
And headed to an incredibly crowded mass down in Carmel. The matching gingham ensembles made a come back.

For the rest of the day, I was a bad blogger and didn't take many pictures. But we had a lovely time. There were Bloddy Mary's, champagne, a beef tenderloin cooked in bacon fat (yep), time sitting outside, long naps by two little boys, a trip to the indoor pool, lots of leftovers for dinner and another night, staying up too late, talking, laughing and learning from Kev's Dad. He leaves this morning and we are bummed to see him go!

Here's one more picture of Bennett to send you on your way.
So stinkin' cute.

How was your Easter?

Your family photos are just beautiful, and you are so darn photogenic. Ethan saw an advertisement for the San Diego Aquarium and wants to go so bad, hopefully we'll make it there, we always have a good time.

Uh yep, that sounds pretty perfect to me! I totally approve of your preferred beach activity (one of my old teachers used to work at Franciscan!).

And beef tenderloin in bacon fat?

Sweet mercy.

LOVE the photos of the guys by the water- those are great shots! And I too can appreciate your favorite beach activity. Will that photo be available for purchase in your shop? ;)

Also, fear not, I can never remember the boiling times for making hard-boiled eggs. Do I stick them in once it's boiling? Before? Do I bring it to a boil and then take it off the heat? Leave it covered? Rinse in cold water? WTH WHY IS SOMETHING SO SIMPLE SO DAMN CONFUSING?! Obviously I did not dye any eggs this year. That would involve boiling eggs and I don't have the slightest clue how to do that.

One more thing: your family is GORGEOUS, Kate!

Gorgeous photos! I cannot imagine how cold that water must have been though. Those boys are crazy.

Pfieffer Beach is one of my fave places on the planet. Looking forward to that post for sure!
