Happy Monday to you all! I was having some computer issues this weekend, so sorry this post is up so late, but we are back together and ready to share the past few days.
Friday afternoon, Kev had to work late so the boys and I headed down to the beach for a dinner picnic. As we were pulling out of the neighborhood, I said "Ah, I forgot my camera." to which Cullen responded "It is okay, Mommy, you can just look at us with your eyes." Point noted, Cullen. Point noted.
Saturday, we headed a few miles down the road to Laguna Seca Raceway for the Le Mans Race. We got there early to enjoy the spectator events.
It takes a real man to rock a Thomas backpack.
Watching some of the cars practice. Such boys. They could have stood there all day.
Enjoying the beautiful weather and all the activities in the pit area.
I saw this on a magnet board and had to take a picture. Such an important message, isn't it?
The rest of the day involved naps for all of us, hamburgers on the grill and later, a movie night for Kev and me.
Yesterday, Cullen was up bright and early, ready to celebrate being "Free!" (we are still working on the 'th' sound). Soon as we were all up and downstairs, he wanted to open gifts.
He got a magnet game and flashlight from his cousins in VA and a butterfly garden from his cousins in WA; 'A $2 and a $1' from Marme and Papa and clothes from Nana and Pop. He was so fired up about it, he changed right away and put his 'monies' in his 'big boy shorts' pockets.
Kev and I decided a while back to get him a little fish tank. He is so into nature and animals right now, we were sure he would be excited. Plus, we think this is a great age for introducing bigger levels of responsibility.
Telling Bubba how to take care of the tank.
Checking it out together.
So excited.
We set it all up, but took him to PetsMart to pick out the fish himself. He chose two little matching neon ones and calls them 'Bennett and Cullen', an algae eater named 'Scud' and a 'Mommy and Daddy fish' (I'm black and white spotted, Kev is orange).
After naps and a trip to the park so Kev could get some work done, we drove into Carmel Valley for dinner.
And since it was Mother's Day after all, (I'm not big in to Mother's day, so don't think my boys just ignored it), I thought maybe I could get a cute picture of me and my darlings.
Not so much.
O well. I still love them and am so happy to be their Momma.
Thanks for all your birthday love for Cullen, I told him that all of Mommy's friends said Happy Birthday and he was thrilled.
Hope your weekend was great!

Aww what a fun weekend. Happy Mother's Day/Cullen's birthday! And I love his comment about the camera. Kids are so darn smart sometimes. :)
Oh my! The things that come out of Cullen's mouth. What a smart little guy. It's amazing how sometimes our kids bring us back to reality and make a great point. I'm sure you loved just looking at your boys with your eyes:)
The first picture of you with the boys is hilarious. *YOU* look great though.
Y'all have some fun-filled weekends! Happy birfday Cullen! You're free!
Heaven help me if I have boys! I don't think I could spend time at the race track! I love the wagon picture though :)
Those fish names are fantastic! I remember my first fish around his age - I named them all after Land Before Time characters and a little snail which I named... Wait for it...
