Welcome to the Party!
I don't know about you, but I am ready for the weekend. (Even though we have been hanging out with our brothers all week, it will be nice to clean up and get the house back in order, plus to sit and chat with Kev since we've haven't had much one on one time this week). And as you know, I am a big advocate of appetizers and a cocktail for an easy weekend meal. I cook all week, so the weekend is definitely my time to relax.
This week, I tried some old favorites on The Brothers, including my crab dip, but also tempted them with a few new recipes, including these Strawberry Brie Bites.
I love an app that looks and tastes fancy, but is actually very easy.
Ingredients:
French Baguette
Strawberries
Honey
Brie

| We buy our honey from the local farmer's market. Did you know that honey tastes differently depending on the type of flower the bees got their nectar from? Wildflowers are my favorite. Do yourself a favor and find some local, raw honey. |
1. Cut up bread, pat a little butter on there and put in the broiler for a few minutes to toast.
2. Add a slice of brie and a drizzle of honey. Pop back in the broiler for 2-3 minutes.
3. Lay a sliced strawberry on top and enjoy. Too easy, right?

The French 75 (sort of).
I saw this recipe on Long Distance Loving (via The Love List) and with my newly acquired taste for Gin, I had to give it a go. Except I did mine the lazy way.
Two parts Gin, 1 part champagne (how much do you love the baby screw top champagne I found? I know, me too), 1 part water and the juice of half a lemon. Shake and serve over ice. Delicious.

I need to try this cocktail! And your strawberry brie bites looks so good!! I had a nice vacation but probably wouldn't go back to DR either. We love Mexico and would definitely go back there!

The appetizer looks so yummy!! Brie and strawberries remind me if northern california, is that weird? Fruit and cheese just taste better there :)
