Keeping with the theme of maybe-if-we-keep-traveling-then-home-won't-seem-empty-while-Kev-is-deployed, the kids and I were off again on Sunday to visit our Monterey friends who just relocated to Pennsylvania (a lot of you might already be familiar with Jenny from Creatively Blooming- we were real friends before blog friends!).
Jenny's son Trenton was Cullen's first best friend and when we finally nailed down a date for us to come visit, it was a looooong 2 weeks of daily asking "Is it time to see Trenton, Charlotte and Evelyn yet?"
When we left Monterey, I was 29 weeks pregnant with Wells and Jenny had just whispered to me that she was newly pregnant with her third. It was so fun for both of us to meet these sweet babies who are now 11 and 6 months old.
On Monday, we decided to tour the Hersey's Chocolate World (I was thinking it would be more like the time we toured Lulu's chocolate together) and I feel like it would have been a good start to a bad joke:
Two moms walked into a chocolate factory with 6 kids ages 5 and under...
Luckily, the kids had fun and even though we only did the free stuff, they seemed satisfied with the experience and we headed back home for fun in the backyard.
Bennett, being terrible at hide-n-seek.
It is always so special when the Military re-crosses our paths and we are so excited to have our good friends close to us again.
Thanks Jenny and Jarrod for hosting our chaos for a few days!
(And Jenny just posted her version of the trip- so you can check it out HERE!)

You two are just so cute together. And your children too! Love both of your blogs.
I love that you guys could get together! How fun!! Makes me miss all of our Tuesday Playgroups! Hope our paths cross again someday!
How special that you two can get together again! The kids look like they had a riot. :) So happy for you all.
How cool to be able to visit your friends from CA again...I love how wonderful friendships never seem to lose strength. They seem to only get stronger and stronger with time. I'm glad you all had a blast!
So glad y'all got to hang out! Cutest kids. Bennett "hiding" is easily my favorite picture. ;)
That is one of my favorite things about military life! I think it is so awesome that you guys were able to visit. Glad you had a great time. :) And mmmmm...chocolate....
So, so, so fun! The B&W is my fave, so sweet. (:
How fun!! And, the kids are so cute together!! I bet they enjoyed the backyard fun more than the Hershey's tour??! :)
BTW.. How is Wells already 11-months??
I think that means I've officially been reading you for well over a year now!! :)
I forgot to tell you - on our way to Hershey, Trenton asked if I thought they would have one of the giant chocolate bars like the one at "Monterey chocolate factory." He was hoping that it would say "Trenton" instead of "Peter." Thanks again for coming to visit! We loved having y'all! And I love the pictures!!!
What a fun weekend! Good for you guys taking 6 kids to Hershey!
What a great time! All of the kids are adorable.
Wells has the absolute best smile. Seeing his picture makes me happy. :)
Always fun when you meet up with military family after you move away from each other!!! Looks like you all had a fabulous time!!!
I loved seeing this! I think I found Jenny through your blog and knew her as your IRL friend.
You guys both have some crazy cute kids!
Okay... "Bennett being terrible at hide and seek" just cracked me up!! Such a great shot! Haha
My middle child would have a full on panic attack at the chocolate shop. Hersheys everything, please.
such a fun visit with friends! and I LOVE Bennett's hiding spot. Elyse is big into hide & seek right now...but her standard spot is in her indoor playhouse or curled up in our living room chair! She doesn't quite the game quite yet! ha!
