A Few Things

1. Kev's birthday is on Sunday! Give him lots of internet friend love for me, won't you?

2. Thank you for all the feedback on yesterday's Do's and Don'ts post. I loved hearing what you have to say and have already drafted a Part II post for next week.

3. I've been booking more photography jobs now that my energy is back. You can see some of my recent work by liking my photography facebook page.

4. The last bit of our San Diego trip was spent touring the retired aircraft carrier The Midway. The boys absolutely loved it (although we kept reminding them Army is clearly better than Navy).
C was all about the thumbs up this day. It was pretty hilarious.
Scarf, bump, maxi, flip flops. Told you it was my favorite maternity wear.
 More thumbs up.
Wonder where he gets it from?

Kev showing C where he lived in Iraq.
Go Army.
Bennett started to get really tired toward the end of this trip and stopped being impressed, as seen here.
We try to keep the boys away from violence as much as we can, so when C asked what these were, we told him they were to protect us from bad guys and he looked into it and said "Hey Bad Guys! Stay in there so you can't get us!" Works for now, right?
If you are ever in San Diego, I would really recommend doing this. It is pretty amazing and I don't think we even saw everything!

5. I have zero ideas for Baby Boy's nursery. C's was green/yellow/baby blue, B's is primary colors/sailboats. When we move the boys will share and I am leaning toward navy blue and lime green for them. I can't for the life of me come up with something new for Baby. Ideas please! Obviously we won't be setting anything up for a while because of the move, but I would love to at least feel inspired.

 Have a wonderful weekend!

Would "thumbs up" be a good theme? Maybe not. What about some sort of ocean theme? You could go down to the beach before you leave CA and fill some jars/bottles with sand and shells so Baby always knows "where he came from" and maybe throw some random drift wood around the room too? And use some of your beautiful photos from the coast! (maybe not the one of the dead cows int he pickup truck though - oh hell, remember that? wow that was awful).

I love the midway! I'm a navy brat myself and am a bit biased. :) hehe I'll be hopping on over to follow your photography facebook page. It's my favorite way to see new photos and be inspired!

For Noah's room we did gray walls and gray chevron curtains and then added color from there. We did primarily blues, but you could have fun with it by adding yellow or pops of orange even. The beach idea sounds cute. We did sailboats and elephants (since its my favorite animal). Giraffes are super cute, or you could do an animal theme in general but keep it muted. I also love the gray or tan monochromatic rooms on pottery barn, they look so calming.

I love the thumbs up! Also I want to steal your maternity outfit and I'm not pregnant!!

For B's room we did baby blue and dark brown polka dots and lots of teddy bears. I thought it was mostly for me but even now he loves the "circles" and is obsessed with all of his bears.

I'm having the roughest time thinking of nursery colors for our baby boy too! I'm so used to all things pink, sparkly, and girly. I am at a loss when it comes to boy stuff.

1. I'm a terrible mom and honestly don't know if I'm going to change anything except personalized art in the kids nursery... womp womp.
2. Can we please try and get Sam and Cullen to take as many thumbs up pictures together in a couple of weeks b/c we know that's a clear problem of Sam's.

I love them posing! So funny!

Ummmm

If this baby was a boy we were going to do red, white, and blue nautical but since you already kinda did that how about orange and gray? I've been seeing some adorable ones in those colors on Pinterest. And the orange doesn't have to be super bright it can be darker.

We visited the Midway about 2 years ago and although I didn't think it would be fun, it totally was! The kids thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am no decorating expert. Poor Emry never had a proper nursery because she shared a room with us. All 3 kids used the same bedding. I picked out one I loved that happened to work for both boys and girls (green, yellow and red plaid). I stored it and will use it for their kids one day.

I second the orange and gray idea.

Love the bag and, like Lauren, I think your maternity outfit is suitable for anyone looking to wear comfy clothes all the time :)

Those pictures are so great! I LOLed at the thumbs up pics!
I followed your photography facebook page...you take amazing photos! Are you planning on doing any more "photography week" posts?
As for nurseries, I love the nautical theme, obviously, since that's what I did for our baby boy, but I see you already did that theme once. The other direction I thought about was doing something more rustic/log cabin-ish...with like a stuffed animal moose head mounted to the wall and a fake bear skin rug, something to that effect. Or maybe John Deere tractor theme.

Happy Birthday Kevin.
Can one of your boys please marry one of my girls? thanks.

Regarding booking sessions. Twice in the last 7 days I was literally wishing you would come take our pictures at that moment. 1) easter when I could not get one good shot of the girls. 2)today on the most beautiful day in georgetown along the canal with brick and pretty blooms-yet another photo fail.

Great pics! We visited the Midway in December and my husband LOVED it!! It was absolutely freezing the day we were onboard and so windy on the flight deck. We have pictures with that flight deck guy, he must have sore legs seeing he hasn't moved since we were there ;)
Happy Birthday to your husband for Sunday!!

Happy Birthday to Kevin! :) That visit to the aircraft carrier looks like fun. I love all of the thumbs up shots. hehe too cute.

You're right, making adult friends is hard. Moving definitely doesn't make it any easier...

Oh, and you should check out the photo galleries on houzz.com. They have some cute nursery ideas. I saw one with a travel theme... you could use some of your photography from all the places you have lived... or want to visit. :)

Fun times, never been here.

I love light colors and whimsical looks for kids' rooms. Decorating is so fun. But, I'm not the best at it. So I can imagine how fun it really is when you're good at it!! :) Good luck. Have a great week,

SHauna

Love the pictures! It looks like your family had a great time!
I love the nautical theme for a boys room. If we have a boy, he will be sharing with Dylan, so sports theme it is!
