Let's dive right into Christmas morning:
So in my husband's family, every Christmas morning, the kids had to line up on the stairs and take pictures one by one coming down. In my family, we were allowed to open one gift under our mini-tree upstairs and then could wait around the big tree until my parents had coffee. Apparently, I have a lot of my parents in me, because while Kev was running around turning on Bing Crosby and trying to get the boys to wait at the top of the stairs so I could take a picture, I was fumbling half awake, noting to myself that next year, coffee before stairs will definitely be instated. So this is the best picture we got.
Sorry, Kev.
Bennett is OB-sessed with these Little People flap open books. When I found "What People Do" I was so excited to have something new to read with him. And we have read it 2981340928439028 times since last Wednesday.

Wells.
Poor third child. At first, we weren't going to buy him anything, because as long as we feed him, he is pretty unconcerned with life, but then we realized that the boys would notice and think he was on the Naughty List, so we ran out and grabbed a bunch of 12 month clothes and wrapped them up. On Christmas Eve we also realized that he didn't have a stocking, so we flipped the one around that said our dead dog's name and passed it off as Wells'.
Parents of the Year over here.

| Christmas lights are ah-mazing! |
On Cullen's Christmas list was: A football, A football tee for kick offs, football gloves and a drum. He got all of the above, plus a few extras.
Bennett asked for Monster Trucks and cars. His wishes were also granted.
I asked for wine. Check.
Kev didn't ask for much, so we got him fancy bourbon.
Our sweet neighbor Gus was cleaning out his toys before Christmas and asked if he could give Bennett this Police-Fire house because B always plays with it when we are over at their house. It was definitely one of Bennett's favorite things and so sweet of Gussy to think of us!
The aftermath
Later that day, my family came over to celebrate Christmas Day and Kev and Bummy surprised me with this:

| Patent pending- don't steal our idea! |
Ever since Wells was born, one boy has to be in the third row of my Yukon and I always complain about what a pain it is to have to throw things back at them and how much easier my life would be if I had a basket and a pulley system, so Kev and Bummy somehow game up with this ingenious invention. It even runs on a motor and I have a little button to send it back and bring it back up to the front. Amazing, right?
All in all, it was a wonderful, blessed day with our family (we spent Christmas Eve visit my Oma and Opa and going to Mass with Kev's parents, but no pictures were taken).
We are so grateful for all that we have and the people we have to share it with.
As an end note, here are my boys, wearing helmets, singing songs about Baby Jesus.
Merry Christmas!

That pulley system is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I am stealing the idea, but don't worry just for my own car, you can make all of the money on it. :) It looks like you had a wonderful day, glad all was Merry. Love,
Shauna xoxoxox
Please send Kev and Bummy out here to rig up a pulley system for me! We just moved Trenton back to the third row, and I've already hit him in the head with a granola bar.
Glad you guys had a great Christmas! The boys all look over the moon!
"…Singing songs about Baby Jesus… And questioning the true necessity of pants."
And I did an actually spit-take (or half-choke, half-try-not-to-spit-beer-all-over-the-computer-and-dribble-it-down-my-chin) when I read the Poor Third Child Wells paragraph. I'm glad my future children will be able to talk through their childhoods with your boys because a) that is totally something I could see myself doing and b) it's going to be a lot cheaper than therapy. Plus you and I can drink wine while our children psychoanalyze each other.
Wow! I see an appearance on Shark Tank in your future. Great Christmas pictures! I can't believe how fast the boys are growing!! It seems like only yesterday when I had the joy of babysitting little baby Cullen!!
Miss you all!
Happy New Year!
Love ya,
Donna
What happy kids (and a happy mom with that pulley system!!!). You are such a lucky lady, and your family definitely loves you :)
I'm not sure what I love more- the stairs photo or Wells stocking. Oh wait, I remember- I love THE PULLEY SYSTEM the most! Freaking GENIUS. Please get them to patent that so that it will be as standard as a DVD player in a new car. Sounds like y'all had a great Christmas!! Squish Wells' cheeks a little bit extra for me this week. And sniff his hair. Thanks. ;)
What a wonderful Christmas you had!
Sounds like you all had a great Christmas!! Love all the pics :) also OMG your idea is genius!! We also have a Yukon and I was already thinking what a pain in the butt it will be when one of the girls has to make the move back there!! You should go on Shark Tank haha!!
Love all the photos. You make me laugh! I have to ask...are you regretting that drum yet? :)
Love this! Especially that you and Kev exchanged alcohol.
OMGosh! YES! I LOVE the pulley system!!! I drive a yukon too and my girls are in the 3rd row, so my biggest complaint was also not being able to reach back to them to give them snacks and whatnot. My husband solved the problem by buying me something like this…http://www.amazon.com/Ettore-49036-Grip-n-Grab/dp/B001B13PC2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1388404589&sr=8-2&keywords=trash+picker
It actually works pretty well.
Also, I LOLed at Well's stocking and that you got him last minute gifts so it didn't look like he was not he naughty list. Such is life with a 3rd child!
Enjoy your Christmas gift…I asked for the same thing ;)
My family was similar to yours (1 gift to pick out prior to Christmas and had to wait) and Joe's was just like Kevin's. Too funny! Sounds like you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!
That pulley system is amazing! In order to delay us going downstairs (and since I was the child who wanted to wake up at 4:30 am!!!) we got our stockings in our rooms and were able to open that before going downstairs. It also made us really open the stockings instead of forgetting about them after the excitement of "real" presents.
You're my kind of gal asking for wine! Love it!!! We didn't buy Shelby much either. A set of blacks and a growth ruler. She has SOOOO many toys from her birthday and from family for Christmas that our house looks like Toys R US!! Happy New Year!
That pulley system is awesome, love it!! And I love Wells's eyes looking at the lights, haha! Looks like it was a wonderful Christmas! :)
that pulley system is genious! Totally takes the cake. Looks like a fabulous Christmas!
Oh my gosh. That pulley system is amazing.
First- WINE. Duh! Second- Poor Wells! haha! Third- SO glad you finally got your pulley system! I remember us talking about it every time you would cart Charli and I around and Cullen had to sit in the way back! Way to go Kev for making it happen!!! Looks like a perfect Christmas was had! Hope you guys have a very Happy New Year!
Between the pulley, the dead dog stocking overhaul, the no pants singing and the wine, I would say your holiday season was truly magical.
xoxo
I can't tell you how much I love this post. Somehow, you manage to keep it real, and still make it seems magical.
Plus, the pulley system? You must have been a really good girl this year to have gotten that!
That pulley system is genius! You really should market that. Love the dead dog stocking also.
Oh Wells! I just love each special little thing about all 3 of your boys. A perfect Christmas in my eyes and that pulley system….um woah! Your bros are amazing!
aww...poor wells! 3rd child problems are real! ha!
And that pulley system is amazing...I'm thinking you could definitely sell those at a premium to other moms!
Sounds like a GREAT Christmas! I love the pulley system that was rigged up. Such a genius idea. :D
Merry (late) Christmas to you and yours. It looks and sounds like y'all had a great time. I know I can always count on a good laugh when I read you posts!!! So thanks!!!
Merry Christmas. It looks like all of you had a very special holiday. The pulley system is brilliant! I think that was such a thoughtful, homemade gift! The boys look like they had such a blast, and Wells will enjoy his clothes--a perfect gift, even with an um "recycled" Christmas stocking. So funny! Merry Christmas, and Happy 2014!
the pulley---amazing! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Pulley system = best idea ever. Seriously get it out there I will buy one.
