The Post With All the Halloween Pictures

So somehow, Halloween and several days have already come and gone. I can't believe how fast each week passes by these days.

We got a late start in the Halloween festivities and didn't carve pumpkins until 4pm on the afternoon of. Luckily, my mom was over hanging out and I got to be in two pictures.

This is my hair-do 99% of the time. Nice, right?
Hopefully this is not my expression 99% of the time. We were all very focused on Kev's handy work.
After considering several brother-themed costumes, (Two knights and baby horse. Two football players and a baby football.) we settled on Captain Bennett, Scallywag Cullen and their giant baby parrott.

I had asked my brother to save some card board from work so I could make a pirate ship, but instead he asked me for the wagon then showed up on Thursday with this:
The boys were so excited. Bummy nailed it.

And just for fun, here is Bennett at 4 months old, Wells at 2 and a half months and Cullen at 5 and a half months.
Hope your Halloween and weekend was great. I am hoping for time to get to reading some blogs this week, I'm missing you all!

You've Been Boo'ed (Year Two)

During the first year of our life in Monterey, our friend Tina started the "Boo-ing" tradition around our neighborhood. After she moved, we decided to continue the trend last year and this year, since we are in a new place, we brought it around again.

The premise of the 'Boo' is to put together two baskets of Halloween goodies,
Pick a two neighbor's houses to drop the treats off (along with the printable Boo poem and Ghost),

Bring the treat to the door

Knock, and hide!
And then the next Boo-er will need to pay it forward by putting the ghost on their door and bringing two treats to two different neighbors.

I love seeing the ghosts popping up on doors all over our street and am so happy Tina introduced this fun tradition to us!

Happy Halloween!

If you thought the cuteness of Monday's costume post was too much to handle, then you should look away now, because on Halloween night, we introduced:

A Fireman and His Dalmatian.
I know. I know. Have you ever seen such a thing?

Soon as the boys were in costume, the only obvious thing to do was to take them to the fire station up the street. (This is the obvious thing, right?) And luckily, the firemen were happy to let them in, show them their versions of C's costume and let the boys climb in the firetruck.
A million thanks to our fire department for making my boys' day!

After a bowl of chili, it was time for trick or treating.
Luckily, we ran into Cullen and Bennett's friends right outside our door and the kids were able to run up to houses together.
Two boys surveying the land for the best candy, or fires, you never know.
Cutest Dalmatian in California, possibly the world.
Baby Soph (jury is out on how old she is going to be when we finally stop calling her 'Baby Soph') came along for her first Halloween ride.
Wait, Mommy, why won't you leave the bucket of candy in the wagon?
There is so much goodness in this bucket, there is no reason to take me away from it.
O, there is more candy over there too?

Dalmatian, OUT.

Quick rewind to Tuesday morning:

We had the neighborhood kids over to watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and decorate Halloween cookies.
Just thought these pictures were worth sharing!
 Happy Halloween!

You've Been Boo'ed!

Last year, our neighbor Tina began an October 'Boo' around our neighborhood. The premise is you buy a little Halloween bucket and surprise a neighbor by leaving it on the front step, then they do it for another friend, and on and on, until everyone has a ghost taped to their front door.

Since Tina moved a few weeks ago, we decided to take charge and start this year's boo-ing.

Our basket (it had candy at the bottom too)
And here is the printable (poorly printed) from www.beenbooed.com
Cullen was SO excited to surprise his friend Hannah.
He left the gift on the porch, knocked on the door, then ran around the corner to hide.
And then this picture happened. Is there anything better than simple joy? I think not.
What a great little tradition, isn't it? We can't wait to see the ghosts going up across the neighborhood.

Will you be Boo-ing this year?
