It's a Jungle In Here

I started to feel a little under the weather yesterday afternoon, and the boys...well, even when they are sick have energy to burn... and after nap, even though I was ready to give into an afternoon of tv, they informed me that we needed to make a jungle, and you just can't turn that kind of suggestion down.

I pulled out the craft bucket and a piece of fabric, some streamers and tissue paper later, I had two happy boys.
One thing I love about them being two years apart (and Baby being another 2 behind them) is the way the play together. C isn't into anything 'too old' for B and B is old enough to understand C's directions and ideas for play. An afternoon of animals and blocks (and some trains too) kept them busy for the better part of two hours (while I sat with a cup of tea and my camera, alternately closing my eyes and blowing my nose- please pray it is just the pollen).

As a former teacher, and always a nurturer by heart, my boys' imaginations and ability to just makes me so proud. There is nothing I adore more than listening to their stories:
The jungle explorer man crashed into the volcano and the lion saved him while the jungle baby monster tried to build his mountain super duper tall and then the gorilla family climbed a vine and jumped down to visit the Vet clinic! Watch out for the alligator, ahhhh!
Please don't ever grow up my babies, okay?

So awesome!!! You did good with that jungle, mama.

My kids will be 23 months apart, so I cannot wait for this to be our house some day!

They always look like they are having fun! And what a great mom you are for letting them make messes... That's when kids are most creative and have the most fun!

Get well!!! And in the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for reasonably priced mosquito nets for the next jungle adventure!

So fun! My girls are 19 months apart and I love it for the same reasons. It's hilarious to overhear the conversations they have when they're playing!!

That is so cute how they play together! Such a creative jungle too. I guess we've missed the window to have one that close in age to our B but hopefully he'll still play jungle with an eventual sibling.

What adorable imaginations! I love your creativity in helping them create a jungle theme. (By the way, you're right. I think two years apart does seem perfect.) Hope you feel better soon!

How sweet! My older kids are 2 years apart and they have always been so close. Even though baby #4 was a big surprise, I love that Lily will be able to have a sibling close in age, too! The timing ended up being perfect.
Your jungle is awesome! I hope you're feeling better!
