The Talented Marme

My mom has been here since last Wednesday and we are having such a wonderful time. She was pretty much made to be grandma (ok, maybe a lot of other things too, but seriously, so good at grandparenting).

Her talents include:

Attempting to stop the Sea Turd from jumping into the Pacific (although short lived, he found a way).
Wine tasting with her favorite future Sommeliers.

Helping her pregnant daughter stock up on amazing California wines for next fall's wine cabinet.
Manning the side of the dinner table with two boys and no other adult (takes courage, people).
Getting up every morning with the boys so Kev and I can sleep in.
She professionally (I was informed that only Marme could do it) transfers the green house seedlings to pots.

She has helped Bennett expand his vocabulary to include:
Mar-eee Ball! Mar-ee Come-on! Mar-ee Play! Mar-ee Shoot!
 Maree-flip! Maree-look! Maree-Jump!

Babysitting overnight so Kev and I could attend the Bay Area's West Point Founder's Day Dinner and have a little time away with each other.
Making apple pancakes (and several other meals which don't involve me being anywhere near the kitchen)
Getting the big bag from the toy store
 And drinking martinis for lunch.
She's a true Renaissance woman grandma.

I've asked her to stay another week, but apparently she has this thing called a life back in DC.
Good thing it is only a few months until we live minutes away from her.

What sweet pictures, & how exciting that with your new baby you'll be living so close to your parents. Mom's are the best. Pregnant with Ethan my mom was visiting and one morning I came out at 6 am to see the fridge moved and her mopping my whole downstairs, even behind the fridge! My mom is nothing if not thorough :)
