A few months ago, I enlisted your help for a little Master Bedroom re-do. Some problems with being in the military and having children is that a) you are totally aware of how temporary your housing situation is and b) is seems way more important to make sure the kids' rooms are cute. So yet again, our bedroom fell to the wayside.
Here is was in January:
And here it is today with a few updates:
-I rearranged my sitting room downstairs and brought the drop cloth curtains to the bedroom.
-Painted the side tables a sea foam green color that I already had.
-Switched out the bedding
-Moved the mirror to the center and ordered some 8x10s of the boys. I bought the mats and frames at Michael's and spray painted them to match.
What do you think I still need to do?
So far the makeover has cost me $20 for the frames and mats, since everything else was just what I had on hand. I'm not attached to any of it (except the pictures) and would even be willing to repaint the side tables. And since I haven't spent any money yet, I have a little wiggle room if you come up with something that I absolutely need.
Help, please!

I love it!! Just a little change really makes a nice difference! Something cheap you could do would be replace the lampshades with something fun! :) Good luck!
I agree - replace the lampshades (or recover them, or stencil them?) and maybe something new over the bed. For some reason the mirror isn't working for me... maybe because it's black? Could you spray paint it? Or go with something else totally new above the bed?
It's really looking great so far though! LOVE the seafoam green side tables! Great color!
Ooo - what about a big canvas print of one of your photos over the bed? I had some prints on canvas done by this company and LOVED them!

I agree with Erika on spray-painting the mirror. Maybe a pastel that compliments the bedding or side tables? I really love the color of the nightstands!
I agree- those lampshades would look awesome with a pattern or color. Something fun like bright tangerine.
The side tables are my favorite part! I think it looks great...maybe a pattern on the curtains? It really does look beautiful though.
I really love the color of the nightstands!
I love the yellow bedding! :)
LOVE your bedding!! I think the room looks great as-is, but this is coming from someone who is currently utilizing a mini fridge as a nightstand. (For the MILK- it doesn't get much classier than that huh?)
It looks really pretty! I love your headboard and I think the color of the side tables is just perfect!
It looks gorgeous Kate :)
I love it! I love love love the colour of your side tables and it's amazing how good the mirror looks having just moved it a little :)
I also adore the new bedding, great colour choices!
I love it the new colors in the bedding and side tables really helps brighten the room up!!!
I love the pop of color with the new bedding. And I'm with the masses. A little spray paint on that mirror could totally put a wow factor into your room.
Great job for such little money. Love it!
you had me at "$20". holy smokes! you did good!
Looks great! Love the seafoam green side tables.
it looks good! I like the added curtains & the rearranging of the wall art. very pretty :)
Go you! This looks so awesome. I can't wait to decorate our new place :) xo! eliza
GORGEOUS ! It is just adorable what you did with it ! I am obsessing over the color of the night stands! I am now tempted to paint ours ! Great job !
You've done a great job. I love the cheerful yellow bedding and the paint job on your nightstands makes a big difference. My suggestion would be to switch out your lamps for something bigger (both the base and the shade) for better proportion with your headboard.
Lovely! DON'T repaint the side tables. I love them. Maybe some new lamps?
I think it looks wonderful. You've incorporated my two favorite colors, yellow and green, very calming and perfect for a bedroom. Hopefully in the future your homes will have recessed lighting, I love the look of lamps but after too many being broken I insisted every room have recessed lighting, I don't own a single lamp.
I love it, Kate! The yellow pops of color are so pretty. Thanks so much for your kind comment on my blog yesterday, too. The warm thoughts and caring support I've received from you and others here in cyberspace truly means so much to me.
I LOVE it! So bright and cheery! Where is the bedding from?
Wow, painting the side tables green completely made the room! I actually thought they were different tables at first. I honestly can't think of anything else the room needs right now, but I'll let you know if I think of something. :)
Very cute! I love the bright yellow on the bed!
My goodness what a difference! Love the color change on the night stands, it makes a huge difference! Love it!
