Friday Fancies: Spring Ahead

Happy Friday, friends! How was your week? Mine seemed to fly by and I really can't believe we are in February already. For this week's Friday Fancies, we are thinking spring, which isn't hard to do considering the temps recently. When I recieved {av}'s prompt, I knew exactly what kind of look I wanted to create for once we get out of boot weather.

Last September, Better Homes and Gardens did an article about up and coming StyleMakers and I remember just loving Erika from Urban Grace's outfit.

And here is her profile pic from pinterest, in a similar look. Check out those bangles and that necklace!

I love her style, her designs, her blog and the fact that she is an Auburn girl, so I decided to create my own springtime version of her look.

FF-Spring
1. The look started with a maxi skirt (Yigal AzrouĆ«l ruched skirt, £839) which I am just loving for this spring. Last year, I wore a few maxi dresses, but I was also 2394083 years pregnant and didn't exactly have a waistline to show off. This year, I am looking forward to cinching my waist and feeling feminine and bold in a long skirt.

2 . I then added a simple tank (American Vintage cotton tank, $45) which will work well since everything else is a bit over the top.

3. I loved the idea of using a blazer for the spring look since there still might be a chill in the air (Boyfriend jacket, $130) and this coral color seems to be popping up everywhere!

 4. I chose to pair my look with some sky high peep toe booties (Alexander McQueen leather booties, £342), mostly just because it is Friday Fancies and I can.

5. A big part to recreating Ericka's look was adding a statement necklace (Kate Spade party necklace, $178) and I think this one does the trick.

6. And finally, in honor of spring, a nice flowery, bright cocktail ring (Juicy couture jewelry, $58) pulls it all together.

What do you think? Maxi skirts a must-do for this spring? Are you reading Urban Grace? (You should be!)

Let me know what fun things you have up your sleeve for the weekend! And be sure to check our {longdistanceloving} for more spring inspirations.

Okay... #1, I am LOVING that skirt! Any idea where we could find a less pricy version?

And #2 - this is so random, but I noticed that you spelled Erika's name wrong late in the post (like mine, Ericka). And I just had to tell you that, because my name is spelled wrong about 95% of the time (either Erica or Erika - seriously - it was even spelled wrong in the program at high school graduation and my Dad was the Assistant Principal!), it always makes me smile when a friend misspells someone else's name the way mine is actually spelled! I feel so loved! Haha! ;)

Kate-

Wanted to let you know that I just purchased a skirt very similar to this at Old Navy for $7.98! Here's the link: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=55402&vid=1&pid=897708&scid=897708002

But check your local store, mine had marked it down to $12.98 then I used a coupon. Got this adorable sandals to go with it but in snakeskin print:

Good luck putting your outfit together!
