One More Day of Weekend

Did you have Monday off? Hubs did, which meant we had one more day to play. It started with happy baby Bennett (and serious Curious George watching Cullen)
Kev did have to do a bit of work and Cullen insisted that he had 'work' to do too.
In the afternoon, we went down to Fort Ord Dunes State Park for the first time and found another ocean vantage point.

Just try to contain yourself with this picture. These two belong to me- it is almost too much to handle.
I know I always say this with pics of Bennett, but seriously, no photoshop elements here, just Baby B and his beautiful eyes.
And Cullen found a play place made of driftwood.
So thankful for a natural playground for my children.
On another note, today is Fat Tuesday, are you celebrating?

Are you giving up anything for Lent?

So beautiful! I woke up this morning to slushy gray afterthoughts of snow...your pictures are such a pick-me-up! Are you Catholic? I am, Hubs is not. This year for Lent I'm going to focus more on adding things in rather than taking things out. My goals are to make it to Mass, to organize and streamline my life, and to put more energy into my relationships. What about you? xo! eliza

That picture of Cullen with his daddy reminds me of our Pastor's message this past Sunday. He talked about how children love to help & join in with their parents' work side by side, just like how we want to be with God, assisting Him in serving others, etc. That image of the two of them is so precious! For Lent we're dining in all this month & donating the saved money to a local Soup Kitchen & I'm reading through Grace Upon Grace with Edie Wadsworth

Seems pretty much like the perfect day to me! There's nothing better. Yes, Lent tomorrow. Giving up sweets (desserts and candy)...... clearing out the kitchen today! :)

Days off are the best! I celebrated Fat Tuesday a few months early in November when I coordinated an awesome Mardi Gras wedding.

You are an awesome photographer...of course, with such adorable models and gorgeous scenery how could you not take great pictures! Is it really Fat Tueasday??? Just kidding...you know we all were dressed up in our Mardi Gras colors. I was asked what I was giving up today at work. Gave a similar response to Eliza...I want to do good things vs give up stuff that I don't really consider it a sacrifice to do. Don't drink much, don't eat much junk food, etc. So, it wouldn't be a real sacrifice. I think doing good for yourself and others can be a harder task and therefore more of a real sacrifice. I like the eating in idea and donating all saved money to charity...I think I will have to add that to my list.
