Weekend Update: San Fran

You might have noticed that for the past few weekends I have been mentioning that Kev has been going on some long runs on Sunday afternoons. All of this was in preparing for the San Francisco Half Marathon he ran this weekend.

We drove up to San Fran Saturday morning and headed straight for AT&T Park (Home of the World Series Champions: Giants) for the Science Discovery Day. It was a free event open to the public and we were able to walk down onto the field and enjoy all the booths full of experiment wonder for the boys.
 Checking out sun spots.
Melting ice.
(Mom Tip: they filled balloons with water, froze them, peeled of the balloon then let the kids experiment with salt, food coloring and magnifying glasses. Genius.)

 Bennett in a balloon.
Our friends Erin and Nick met us at the Science Fair and then took us to a nearby cafe for lunch (where the boys found a mud puddle to play in, naturally). Afterward, we headed to their apartment, complete with roof views like this:

The boys proceeded to make themselves at home and have a ball. C played his first ever video game: old school Nintendo World Cup Soccer.
And B found a wall that it was okay to write on.
After a wonderful pasta dinner made by our friends, we headed to bed (only to be woken up at 4:30 from a toddler who didn't quite understand the extra hour of sleep we were supposed to get) and in the morning Kev, Erin, our friend Kelly, and two of our friends from Monterey, Steven and Spencer, ran the half marathon.

We headed down to mile 12.5 to cheer everyone on in the end.

Go Daddy Go!

Kev, Spencer and Erin at the finish (crazy people who finished easily under 2 hours).
After heading back to the Apartment to recover and pack up, Erin and Nick took us and the boys to the concrete slides. I'm not sure who had the most fun, Cullen or Mr. Nick?

How amazing is B's hair? Love it.
 The final race.
So proud of my hubby and all our friends for completing the half!

Thanks Erin, Nick and Kelly for another wonderful weekend.

Hope you all had a great one!

GO KEV! That's insane! Both in the "you ran a marathon? That's insane!" kind of way and the "you ran a marathon? That's insane... Seriously, that's insane, why would anyone choose to do that?" way ;)

And is it just me, or does C have the happiest smile in the world? It's almost like you can hear him laughing through the photos!

Good for your hubby. We have such an important obligation to set a good example for our kids. When you see your parents being active it's just part of your lifestyle.

Geez, I ran 5 minutes straight this morning and thought that was something. But GO KEV GO for running a half marathon! I cannot imagine. Literally. I'm almost dead after 5 minutes, I don't wanna know what something "under two hours" feels like.

And could your friends have a better view?!

I agree with Lauren- I can hear C laughing. And B's hair is kind of amazing.

Yay for the Hubs! That is a great accomplishment.

I just took my mom to San Fran yesterday (she is in town from Michigan). She absolutely loved it and the weather was amazing! I am so glad that you stopped by my blog and introduced yourself.
