**********
Hi Friends, how are you? If you have been reading this blog for any Monday, then you know that around here, we live it up on the weekends.
*****
First, an anecdote. Remember how last week I shared our daily routine? Well, on Friday, we picked Kev up early from school since he only had a test and was able to take the rest of the afternoon off. We decided to go out to lunch and as we turned the opposite way of heading home, Cullen wailed "where is we's go-in? It's times to go home and take a bathf and put pjs on!" He was so confused as to why Daddy was with us, but it wasn't bath time. We are a routine machine around here.

On to the weekend... We did end up going out to lunch, then home for nap time. When the boys woke up, we randomly decided to head to the Monterey Aquarium and we happy to be close to the only ones there.
Are you ready for the most fantastic picture ever? Here are my boys in the 'open sea'.
I know, it is almost too much to handle isn't it?
Saturday, we had a 2 hour long house cleaning party and then decided to venture up to Santa Cruz and see the Redwood Forest up there. The boys and I had been once last fall when my parents were in town, but this was Kev's first time. We picked Henry Cowell State Park and did an easy mile hike among the massive trees.
Saturday evening, we headed down the street for enchiladas and margaritas with our friends Traci and Steven.
And finally on Sunday, it was just warm enough to turn on the sprinkler. {Side note: If you had told me a year ago that 67 would be 'just warm enough for the sprinkler', I would have thought you were crazy}
Bennett was not ok with this situation.
And after a Sunday afternoon Baby Shower for Steven and Traci's little girl, we headed home to put on tired Bubba to bed. C stayed up and played for a while, until he brought this over to me and said that he was ready for Daddy to take him up to bed.
I asked what it was and he responded, "A rhino stuck in an onion".

Your family hike looks like a great time!!
Those redwoods are gorgeous! And I love your dress too! Happy Monday!
I was about to say Bennett was stealing this post with those faces, but Cullen totally stole the show with the rhino stuck in an onion (is that not where rhinos go? that's where I keep mine)!
Beautiful pictures, as always! Gotta love those sombreros :)
I think C was channeling MJ in that first photo ;)
Look at you- taking a hike and looking all pretty. Anything involving walking a mile or more qualifies for yoga pants around here. I mean, I walked 30 min yesterday morning and came back looking like I'd gone swimming instead. Damn humidity.
Anyways, the park looks beautiful and it's hilarious that C is so routine-oriented!!
"a rhino stuck in an onion" hahahaha
so cute!!
How nice that he willingly volunteers for bed too!
hi Kate! What a fun weekend you all had and you guys are such a gorgeous family!!
Have you taken the boys to Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton? We went there on one of our trips to the USA and it was awesome, like stepping back in time with a cute little village and an old steam train that takes you up Bear Mountain to see the old redwoods. You should look it up! I know they have Thomas the Tank days there too!
Have a great week :)
What a fun and enjoyable weekend!!!! The pictures from the park are beautiful!!!
