Bold Guest Room

Amongst making progress in preparing for baby and move, I have been doing more and more daydreaming about setting up the new house, esepcially since I finally know what it looks like. A little explaination for my non-military friends: we are living on the base at Ft. Ord, so we were assigned a house that coordinates with Kev's rank, we didn't really get to pick it out. The majority of floor plans within our range did not have space for a guest room, but instead had a loft area inbetween the bedrooms for a study. So our plan was to loan our guest room furniture to my parents for a few years and keep a futon for company that we would move into the baby's room when necessary. Not ideal, but what we thought would happen. However, last week, we lucked out and the only floor plan with a first floor, separate room, study was available and we snagged it! I am so happy to have a real room for guests to stay in and now I can have some fun planning the decor.

I feel like I can pull off something a little more modern and bold, it being California and all, and black and white actually keeps popping in my head. I already have some black curtains with bees on them from our current study and a headboard in our guest room that I can easily switch the fabric on to something with a black and white pattern. Then with a few accessories, and maybe a pop of blue or yellow, the guests should come rolling in!

Classic and bold, what a great combo!
