Happy Friday! Did this week fly by or what? Actually, the last 27 years have gone by way too quickly and it turns out, I'm going to be 28 a week from tomorrow. Holy cow, when did that happen? In honor of my unavoidable aging, I've decided to embrace my late-20s and create a sophistic, hip and functional outfit for {av}'s Friday Francies: Blazin' Beauties.
I have several blazers from my sorority days hanging in Bennett's closet and I feel that this fall, I definitely need to pull them out. At Auburn, you had to dress up for 'formal' chapter and that usually meant a suit, but no black, brown or gray was to be seen- I have red, blue, pink tweed (yea, really) and white suit jackets that are just dying for a second chance (aside from sitting in a metal chair 'snap-voting' for Miss Homecoming). I'd love to pair one of my bright jackets with a fun skirt (who doesn't love a peacock, I know I do!), a fabulous statement necklace and some neutral wedges to balance out all the color on top. What do you think? Worth a shot?

And my o-so-serious Baby B, most likely questioning why I am posing like a peacock. Get used to it kid, Mommy will be embarrassing you for the rest of your life. He turned 4 months yesterday and is just a ball of love and joy. We went to the doctor for a check up and he is doing so great. He continues to be a happy and easy-going baby. He laughs all the time now and love to sing and dance (he and Cullen have a routine, I should probably record it and share it with yall). He loves to cuddle and watch C play and he smiles big every time our dog comes by to wipe away the drool.
And finally for Friday, I bought this little side table from Goodwill this week for $12 and need to paint it this weekend. I definitely want it to be a color (not white, black or brown) but can't decide which direction to go. Thoughts? O and look, another peacock.

Ohhh paint it the color of your blazer, or in one of the colors from the rug!! It's so cool you said you almost picked my blazer and necklace too! <3 What you ended up with at the end is gorgeous though! Oh and happy birthday in advance!
LOVE the jacket, and peacocks - and I vote for emerald green or a cool turquoise color for the table! It will make it pop, and it will go with your rug and peacock. Plus - it reminds me of the ocean, and since you live near one, it's perfect! :)

I totally love the outfit. I think it is totally fun while still looking completely put together!! I think the wedges are perfect with it.
That little table you got is so cute! I'd pick a bright color out of the rug and go with it. Personally I think I'd go like a teal-ish color if there is any of that in the rug (or if it would match even a little!)

Ooh, the colors are so beautiful and the ensemble is perfectly peacock! :) I adore that skirt and the wedges!! Which reminds me, I need some new brown wedges. I think you definitely have the right idea with the statement necklace and all that!

I agree--go with a peacock blue or emerald green for the table! It would make such a pretty statement.
